Community run freehouse and former 17th century coaching inn on the eastern edge of Wincanton which reopened in Nov 2025, the pub being run by Bayford Inn Benefit Society. The pub closed in April 2024 and was subsequently put up for auction. In response, a community group was formed, and the freehold of the pub was purchased by samlane Limited as a bridge purchaser to secure the pub as a community asset. Bayford Inn Benefit Society Limited operates the pub and is raising community shares to acquire the freehold and fund continuing improvements. See the website for further share purchases.
